recognizing thecontributions of women in all fields of study.The National Women's HistoryProject,founded in 1980,has been one of the organizations to lead the way.It isan

educationalnonprofit organization whose mission is to recognize and celebrate the diverseand historic achievements of inventive women.Each year,the National Women's

History Projectselects women to honor them. Sometimes these honorees paved the way aspioneers;other times they built on the knowledge and work of those who came
